first etsy inspired

Hi all!  Hope your having a great Thursday!  This week has been an odd one, I can't seem to keep my days straight and throughout the day think it's actually another.  Yesterday I could have sworn was Thursday!  Weird!  So happy to see my card on the Create blog today for the Cards challenge, you can see it here.  Way to make my day!

But you know what made my day even more?  I was cuddling Carter after his nap and after a bit he tried to get away and I said to him, no cuddle mommy!  Lately he has been starting to talk on his own a lot more and he said "Cuddle" very sweetly than "Love You!'  In his most adorable cute voice, oh how my heart melted!  Ariel is gone for 2 nights with Chad's parents and a few of her girl cousins so I am looking forward to some mommy and Carter time!

Today I have a card for the Etsy Inspired challenge.  This is my first time playing with there challenge!  And it's a great time to do so with it being there 100th challenge, such great prizes!  Loved looking through Cath Walter's Etsy store!  Here is what I found inspiration in:

So pretty isn't it?  Here is my card:

I loved the pink butterfly and I added some other colors (can't help but love these colors right now)  I don't have a musical stamp (yet! did you see the new Hero Arts background one yet?) So I used my friends def background. And also clear embossed the Cling dots by HA on all the white, and stamped Antique Brocade with Broken China Distress Ink.

I think it's quite funny that as I wrote this post it dawned on me that I could hear flushing, I caught Carter standing by the toilet flushing it over and over!  I started the post with how sweet he is, and ended it with how much of a boy he is!

Have a great weekend see you Saturday with another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!

It's going to be a wonderful week!

Hi friends!  This week is going to be such a wonderful week for me as Jill Foster who has a great blog called Inspired By... is inspired by me!  You can check it out here  I am sure you know how thrilling this is for me!  Jill is super talented and always features such talented people on her blog I am shocked that she picked me! And honored, and giddy with happiness!  I am looking forward each day to seeing what card of mine she has picked and to see her amazing card she makes!

Hope that your weekend went well.  Mine was quite busy with a great girls night out, got home at 1:40 am since we last track of time and well girls love to talk!  And a couple friend of ours and there kids came over Sunday night so that was fun!  The weather is so very hot and humid over here that today I didn't go outside with the kids!  It's just way too hot and I thought we needed a break from it.  I am so thankful that we have air conditioning for sure right now!

Today I have a fun card to share with you:

My mother in law gave me the legs of an old pair of jeans (I think she made shorts) and right away I thought of stamping this pant stamp on them!  All the clothes are fabric, the bright pink is an old tank top of Ariel's, and the dress is from some bloomers of hers!  I stamped them with staz on and it worked fine!  I thought it would be fun to have them hanging off the branch but wanted the branch to be longer so I stamped part of the branch and than using post it notes stamped the rest.

When I went to look for the card photo I saw some photos I took on Saturday night:

This is my view as I chased Carter down the street!  He is super fast he got quite far!  I don't usually let him walk around the house but that morning he did this:

He got into the flour!  And than he got another outfit all wet and I was tired of dressing him and was about to put him in his pj's when Ariel let him outside!  (I was bbqing and she was joining me)  It was quite funny to see him running around with only his diaper on!  The neighbors thought it was quite funny also!

Have a great week!  Time for me to go to bed!

Wee Memories Scappy Saturday Challenge 17

Hello everyone!  Saturday the best day of the week, is here again and it's time for another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  By the way Wee Memories is on facebook now!  You can "like" us using the button in the Wee Memories sidebar, or go to the page here.

And other exciting news is that we have a guest designer for the month of August, Courtney Lee make sure to check her wonderful blog out!

I am quite excited about this weeks challenge, it's my favorite, butterflies!  I love butterflies and find myself owning A LOT of butterfly stamps, dies, etc and even more on my wish list!

We have a great sponsor this week, The Gilded Bee  she has some gorgeous paper stuff, make sure to check her out!  I very much enjoyed looking through her store, I love the butterflies and her flowers and she has the cutest tags!  And the lucky winner will receive some of her butterflies!

Here is my card:

I have had this card idea in my head for a little while.  I inked only a part of the Hero Arts cling dots and stamped it.  I thought it would be different to stitch the hello and stamped it on a post it note and than pierced it and than hand sewed it.  It was not as easy as I thought it was!  I stamped and colored the butterflies from Antique Engravings set by HA with my prisma and derwent pencils!

The deadline for entries Thursday, 12 August 2010 at 11.59pm PST. I would love for you to play along with us!  I can't wait to see what you create!  For more inspiration click here to see the lovely creations from the design team members.
I wanted to say a special thank you to all of you who left me such sweet comments on my anniversary!  I loved sharing my photos and story with you!  Your comments made me feel so happy, and brought tears to my eyes.  I am so blessed by you.  We had a great day together, it was nice to be able to spend time alone and celebrate 8 years!  The kids had a great night at my inlaws, which is wonderful as it was Carter's first night away!

The rest of this week has been pretty good.  We went to a few more splash and wading pools. And I worked 3 evenings!  They are short staffed at the children's clothing store and had a crazy sale so I went in.  It's okay as Chad was home with the kids and I am enjoying making my own money for my upcoming trip to Scrapfest in September in Minneapolis!  I want to be able to shop shop shop!  This weekend we have a birthday party to attend as a family and in the works is a girl night!  I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my husband Chad and my 8th wedding anniversary!  I remember my wedding day fondly, I couldn't wait to marry Chad!  I loved my wedding, and I enjoyed planning it!  I am thankful for my marriage.  I love married life, some days I am sure you know it's not easy but having a partner someone you can build a life with and a family is the best.  Chad is the perfect person for me, he understands me and balances me out.  I love being with him.

I love hearing and reading people's stories of how they met and fell in love so I will share a bit of our story.  Chad and I met when I was in my first year of university, I was 18, at a college and career event at our church.  He pretty much was crazy about me right away and we were friends, we dated on and off and all that fun.  I was a little nervous and not good at dating as Chad was my first boyfriend, my first kiss!  A lot of people were surprised by us being together,  as we are total opposites.  Chad was quieter and shy while I was anything but!  For us it worked, and still does!

I made Chad a card:

I used my new Hero Arts stamp set for this card and a sentiment from another, I love this sentiment!
Here are some photos from our wedding, they aren't the best quality as they were scanned:

Last night I went looking on my computer for these photos.  As I looked I also went through many other photo's from our marriage.  I saw pictures of us on our honeymoon, of trips, just us together all sorts!  I also looked through photos of Ariel as a baby and saw us as we grew into a bigger family with the addition of Carter.  I am truly blessed with my marriage these past 8 years and I look forward to even more.  Chad I love you forever, and I would marry you again today.  (Now wouldn't that be fun, I would love to buy another dress!)

I am excited as tonight my inlaws are taking the kids for the night!  Chad and I are going on a date.  We still haven't seen Eclipse (can't believe that!) so we are off to see that and than something else.  I look forward to spending time with just him, and waking up on my own not to two kids!  This is the first time in almost 2 years we have had the night to ourselves, I hope Carter does well!

thinking of you

Hello!  Happy Monday!  Today is a holiday in Canada so we are enjoying some family time!  After a much too busy week last week it's been nice to be relaxing at home, and cleaning!  We had a terrific time at our friends cabin on Saturday, the water was so warm and it was so hot out!  All the kids had a blast!  Today I have some thinking of you cards to share.  A few weeks ago my mom's elderly friend suffered a massive heart attack, when my mom was away in Croatia!  My brother called me and I went right away to visit her.  And I was mad at myself since I didn't have any cards made that I could bring to her.   Thankfully after a bit in the hospital she has come home, and my brother got her in touch with my mom on the phone.  Since than I have been meaning to make thinking of you cards to have on hand and have a lot of ideas stored up in my head.  I am happy that one of the Hero Arts theme's this month is keeping in touch, I plan on working on my thinking of you stash.  This card also work for the CAS-tastic challenge this week which is to use some bling.  Funny as this card has been in my head for a while and I had been planning on using bling!

I stamped the Hero Arts Blooming Meadow stamp in white on the craft.  I distressed the edges of the Bella Blvd pp, added the thread with buttons, and the bling.  This card is simple but I really like it!

I noticed that my sweet flickr friend Barb received my sympathy card that I sent her so I thought I would share it.  It uses the same stamp and the same pp (what can I say I love that pp)

This is my first card using lace!  I picked it up at the local fabric store for cheap.  I actually picked up all sorts of things that I haven't gotten around to using!  I love the lace but I find it hard to use!

I hope that you have a wonderful week!  I better run the kids are playing in Ariel's room quietly. Okay I went in and they were having a sleepover and cuddling in her bed, so sweet!

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #16

Hi all!  It's Saturday which means that today is another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  And today is my first as a member of the Design Team!  Yay! As you are reading this I am on my way to our friends cabin for a day at the beach!  It's a long weekend over here!

The Sponsor this week is no other than Cosmo Cricket!

The challenge is to use chipboard in your creations!  I knew that I had a bunch of chipboard cute shapes that were colored and with glitter but than I realized that my little Ariel had taken it all!  I asked her if she had any left and well no!  I did have some plain chipboard so I decided to cut it with my bigz die in my big shot and make my own shapes!  I always find it fun to cut hard items in my big shot, I am seriously going to have to try metal one day!  So here is my card:

I covered the butterflies with patterned paper by Bo Bunny.  I went with white as my focal point and embossed it so that the colorful butterflies would stand out. As I was making these I thought to myself that they would make good magnets so I added some to the back!  Than to adhere them to the card I used a pop up square!  It makes it extra special for the recipient.

The back of the butterflies:

I hope that you join in this fun challenge this week!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!  The prize is
2 packs of Cosmo Cricket Paper (Garden Variety and Core Impressions) and 2 packs of alphabet chipboard.  Please go to the blog for more details here.
The deadline is Friday, August 6 at midnight PST.Have a great weekend!
