Stamp It Pub!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  Can you believe it's Thursday already?  Both kids are in school today so it's going to be a quiet and different day!  Did you read my post before this one, the one with pictures and sharing with you my day?  Well I thought I would share that yesterday after a busy morning (Stay and Play Winter Carnival I helped run the craft table) I spent the afternoon on the couch with a long leisurely nap!  I was tuckered out and I don't know the last time I spent an afternoon on the couch! I think I may have overdone it on Tuesday and than I had a bad sleep!  Feeling back like myself today!

Have you seen?  This week on the Paper Crafts blog it's Stamp It week!  I am really blessed and have a card in this issue!  I was so excited to be asked to take part!  Another goal met! I got to work with an Avocado Arts stamp set Perfectly Perfect Day!  I worked with the kite and clouds images!  I  made 3 cards for this and they would pick one, today I am sharing the two that didn't get picked up you can see the one that did get picked up in the issue!  :>  The third one is the one that got picked  up (which I agree it's so much better!) Here is the other two in the order I made them:

I embossed the kraft card with the Spellbinders Trendy folder, added twine and used paper from Hello Summer by Echo Park!

For this card I also used the Hello Summer by Echo Park for the kite, and did a lot more stamping with the grass and in white the clouds in the background!

I had a lot of fun playing with this set, it really is such a cute set!

Well that's it from me!  I am off to give the house a once over quick clean, you can clean up so much faster when no kids are home and it stays clean well until the return!

u plus me!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  :>  I started to write this post but than life got in the way.  Do you ever have days like that?  I took the photo of my card today beside a window and a door and even opened the door to get better lighting.  (the neighbors dog barking loudly at me didn't bother me, I needed that light to get a good photo!)  Than I looked at the time and it was time to leave since I was having lunch with a friend:

It was wonderful to have lunch with her, it's been a bit since we've hung out but it was like old times!  She is a great friend to have!  :>  Than I went to Chapter's (bookstore) and on the newsstand saw 3 magazines that I have 5 cards in:

And may have done the happy dance!  It doesn't get old at all!  :>  Than I was good and resisted buying anything at the Children's Place even though there is crazy sales and my kids don't seem to stop growing.  But I plan to go back I mean I really should have got Carter that Lego Ninjago shirt since it's so cute and he wants to wear his Ninjago sweatshirt ALL THE TIME (which we had to buy since he would not let us not buy it lol) Since my LSS was so close to the mall I went there next, I was on a mission to get enamel dots!  Which I did:

Does not my LSS look awesome?  Than I went home to get Chad and we went to pick up the kids from school.  Where we told them the exciting news "We are going to go Sledding!" (it's finally only minus 12 C not the minus 45 C of last week we can go sledding!) And were met with NO I DON"T WANT TO DO THAT!  Chad had to wrestle with Carter to put his snowpants on and when Chad won Carter cried very loudly (in the nice Christian school) that he didn't want to go sledding!  The staff in the office and teacher's around did find it quite funny that he was crying about having to go sledding.  And even though I told Chad to take a photo of Carter crying I think maybe he didn't really think I was serious.  But I was I mean really a 4 year old boy sobbing with tears running down his face over not wanting to sled?  We had a great time anyways and another friend  and her daughter joined us:

Ariel really got into it and didn't want to leave:

Carter pouted and cried most of the sledding time.  But since he stood near the top of the toboggan run I may have just put him on the sled and pushed him down anyways!  Several times and even got a photo:

And even though I begged Carter and pleaded with him about how every year mommy gets a cute photo of you and Ariel outside with your hats on he would not pose for that photo!  Than we went home practiced piano, ate dinner (I was tired so I may have fed them a frozen pizza, with cut up veggies on the side!) and played, bathed them and danced to Carter's favorite Justin Beiber song!  :>  Now the kids are sleeping and I can share my card!  I finally found in my stash Untitled Heart by Hero Arts and quickly made this very CAS love card!

I finally used for the first time my Chevron's embossing folder by Sizzix and Hero Arts!  I love it and really must try to use it more!  :>  I also made my own sentiment with my Hero Arts Typrwriter letter's set!  :>  Added a hot item I noticed last week and may have gone out and bought two days in a row, Sequins!  I NEED MORE!  :>  By the way whenever I see or use u & me it makes me think of Chad and me!  :>  So lucky to have a wonderful hubby like him!  :>

Well that's it for me!  I am off to lay on the couch and read my most interesting book and relax after such a fun busy day!

Valentine Cards for Cards From the Heart Valentine Drive!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  I wanted to start this post off with a big thank you for all your kind comments left on my Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop Post!  Wow I've treasured each and every comment!  :>  Big thank you!

Hope you are having a terrific weekend!  We've had a lovely one.  On Friday after school we went to the Children's Museum (we have annual passes great Christmas gift!) Than for dinner at Spaghetti factory!  What a fabulous family night!  Yesterday Ariel had a birthday party and Chad's friend brought him to the first NHL hockey game of the season!  Carter and I enjoyed a nice quiet afternoon at home!  Today we went to church and are enjoying a nice relaxing Sunday!  Only sad point is that Ariel isn't feeling all that well.  :<

I wanted to pop in and share some cards I made for my friend's Winter Sim's Cards From the Heart Card Drive!  She mentioned recently that she hasn't gotten too many cards in yet!  Please consider making some cards and sending them in!  Since I am in Canada I am going to send mine in airmail so they make it there in time!  Please click here to read more, she has lots of sponsors giving away prizes too!

I decided to play with Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine since it's new to me (got it a few months ago) and I can't find my other heart set and my new Valentine Stamps haven't made it to me yet!  I used My Mind's Eye's Lucky in Love's paper!

I went with one design but made 4 with the different stamps in the set!  A flat design with no embelishments as Winter asks that you don't use any buttons or anything that could be pulled off (no chocking hazard!)  I used all Hero Arts ink on this, I am truly loving the mid tone Tide Pool ink, it's my perfect aqua blue!  I also used the black, and mid tones red and bubble gum pink!  :>  I stamped onto cardstock than colored part of the stamp in, cheating coloring and cheating paper piecing!  :>

Since this is a love post I thought I would share about the love between my children.  My goodness do those two ever love each other!  It's truly mutual!  They do have there moments where they fight, and Ariel says things like why do I have a little brother and they kick each other or hit!  But for more often they love each other!  It never stops amazing me and I never just walk by when I "catch" them cuddling each other I always stop and smile or call Chad to come and see.  I try to catch a photo of it but I think they are tired of me taking so many photos of them!  Today already I've seen them cuddling 4 times!  And they play so well together!  Here are some photos:

Carter sitting in Ariel's lap at the Jet's hockey practice last week:

Playing together under the sink:

Caught them in bed cuddling and giggling when they were supposed to be going to sleep:

The other day I found Ariel reading to Carter after bath:

And just now I turned around from blogging this to find them cuddling like this (which inspired this whole post about it)

Well that's it from me!  Hope you have a terrific rest of the weekend!  I am going to join my kids and cuddle on the couch with them!  :>

I shall start this post off with a love card featuring one my my favorite new clear sets Typewriter Notes!

I took the two xoxo's in the set and put the heart in between them and stamped the backgound with Hero Arts Mid Tone Inks Tide Pool, and Bubble Gum Pink and since I didn't have the right light pink I used a American Crafts marker to color in the stamp for the light pink!  Used some fun strips of paper from My Mind's Eye's Lucky in Love!  Stamped and fussy cut the typewriter and added some buttons!

My Next card I used the Typewriter Notes again along with the hot new cling background Hexagon Background!

I love this I'm tired of texting sentiment!  LOL  I kept giggling over it while making this card!  I am so not tired of texting just to let you know!  In mind when I  designed this card the strip of sentiments on the side are texts!  I used Hero Arts mid tone inks:  Tide Pool, Orange Soda and Wet Cement!

And my last card today I am sharing another stamp I love, the Tall Flowers Cling Stamp!

For this card I heat embossed some Chestnut Zing powder onto patterned paper by My Mind's Eye The Sweetest thing collection (bluebell) and paper pieced the flowers!  Really happy how it turned out!  I also used a sentiment from the Many Birthday Messages.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I am the last stop in the hop today!  Please do check out the Hero Arts Blog Tomorrow for the last day of the Hop!

Please leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win this Many Dots Stamp Set by Hero Arts, I will draw a winner on Monday!  You don't have to be a follower but if you wanna be go ahead!

Flower Burst Birthday!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  Hope your having a great Tuesday!  Both kids had school today so I enjoyed a day to myself!  Over the weekend we had quite the storm and I heard on the radio that it was not a blizzard as it was 9 minutes to short!  LOL No idea how they come up with that but still it was basically a blizzard!  Lots of snow but not like the blizzard of my childhood where my parents opened the door and all you saw was snow!  The whole doorway!  It was funny as it blowed a lot and we had a lot of snow but the neighbors across had none!  Sadly this blizzard has brought cold weather once again, last week was so beautiful!

Today I have a card to share using some new products, Spellbinders Shapebilities Flower Burst die, along with it My Minds Eye's Lost and Found 3 collection!

I had much fun with die cutting this flower die, and by that I mean not at all!  I think this die would work much better with cardstock as opposed to patterned paper. Make sure to use a small piece of wax paper in between the die and the paper otherwise you will have an impossible time taking the paper out like I did! I also kept somehow embossing it wrong so if you  look closely you will be able to see!  After using up a whole 6 by 6 in my failed attempts I decided that was it! Than something wonderful happened when I went to adhere this card together, can you see that small smidge of red and white patterned paper above the pink?  That was the be the main paper in this card, but when I turned the paper over it hit me that this side would work so much better!  Yay for that a card that started out so frustrating turned out so well and made me so happy!

So many cute moments over here lately.  The other day I went upstairs and Carter excitedly told me that "Ariel is my best friend!"  I don't care how often he says it, it still touches my heart each time!  The other night I caught Carter coming out of Ariel's room "I was just tucking Ariel in!" He went back to his bed and Ariel told me "When he comes in I pretend I am sleeping so he can tuck me in, he likes to do that!"  Aww they are adorable!  :>

Just read this suspenseful book for book club:

I very much enjoyed it, couldn't see what was coming next and although I didn't like the ending I still very much enjoyed the read!  So if your looking for something to read pick this one up! :>

Well that's it from me today!  I shall be back on Thursday for the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop!  Chad and Ariel are making supper right now, Pizza buns!  :>

A card in 75 Creative Cards!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  We are preparing for a blizzard!  Yes they are calling for a blizzard from last night and we are excited!  Stocked up on groceries, and looking forward to spending the weekend in!  Currently I have dough rising to make cinnamon buns (my favorite)  Looking forward to a weekend in of family fun, baking and crafting!

Today I wanted to stop by and share a card I have in Paper Crafts 75 Creative Card Challenges!  What an absolute fun issue!  I was delighted to be asked to submit to this issue and really enjoyed each challenge!  :>  I was thrilled to have 2 cards picked up!  I will share my favorite which was for the challenge was 75  Change the color of some trim!

I thought to myself they want us to change the color of trim, I will use lace and give them not just one but three!  :>  I loved this card and was so happy it was picked up!  My other card that got picked up was for challenge 12 Make your own ruffle!

I also thought I would share another card I made for one of the challenges 31 Stamp circles with a glass that was not picked up!  I used one of my glasses that has an interesting top:

Even though it wasn't picked up I still like it!  Did you see that Paper Crafts ad Moxie Fab have done a whole week on this issue?  It's such a great issue and very inspiring!  :>

Also wanted to let you know that next week I will be taking part in this:

Yay sooo exciting!  Well I am off!  Hope you have a terrific weekend!

Plumeria Card Set!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  Hope you've had a great start to your week!  I am sad as it was the start of school today and Christmas holidays are over!  I enjoyed every moment with my kids!  We had so much fun!  I think this was one of our best Christmas Holidays, no one was sick and it was relaxing and fun!  :>

Today I wanted to pop in and share a card set that I made before Christmas for Ariel's teacher!

When I made the card sets for the teachers I tried to make sets that were fast to make.  I know looking at this flower trio you are thinking well that couldn't have been fast!  BUT I figured out a way to make it fast!  While I usually painstakingly (loving every moment) hand paint with inks and water each petal since I had to do four I instead painted each whole flower with a bigger brush quickly let it dry (it seemed to dry as I painted all four than went to the other color and so on) than carefully with darker ink (less water same ink) painted a few petals!  So much faster and easier and it still turned out with that look I wanted!  I used the Plumeria collection (stamps by Hero Arts and papers by Basic Grey) for these cards!

Well that's it from me today!  Hope you have a fabulous week!

Sew Cute!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  It's Friday and while we all love the weekend being here it's sorta sad as school is back on Monday!  I have enjoyed every moment of the Christmas Holiday with my kids!  Ariel is in full time school and Carter is in preschool (every Tuesday, every second Thursday) Last night they had a sleepover with there cousins at my inlaws!  Teasing Ariel I told her I wanted to keep her home as I love her so much and she said "Yeah but I have so much fun there!"  LOL  When we dropped them off we went skating on the lake in my inlaws backyard!  A truly Canadian thing to do!  Chad and I enjoyed our day together!

I do have some amazing crafty good news to share!  CARDS magazine asked me to be there Designer of the Month for November 2013!!!  This was a dream/goal of mine!  They asked me on the 1st so what a way to start the new year!

Today I have a card to share that features the new stamp set Sew Perfect along with Carta Bella's Paris Girl paper!  I am having fun with this set!

I think one of the reasons I love this set so much is because my mom is a taylor!  I made a fun tape measure!  I have a lot of tape measures as my mom is constantly giving them to me!  LOL  What I did was stamp the tape measure over and over in a line on both sides than I rolled it!  I love the look that it gives!  I also took some seam binding (I had to use seam binding instead of ribbon for a sewing card!) and died it with some Tattered Angels pink poodle mist!  :>

I am entering this card into this weeks Simon Says Stamps challenge as it's Something New and I used new stuff on this card!

Well I am off to enjoy pizza and some family time tonight!

Lady Bugs and Frame on Breakfast Television!

Hello Crafty Friends!  This morning Ariel and I were on Breakfast Television sharing some kids crafts!  This is my 4th time and Ariel's 3rd!  :>  It's so fun we really enjoy it!  We made crafts with things around the house to keep your kids occupied as they are still on Winter Break!  :>

Our first project was a Decoupage Frame using wrapping Paper!  You can see the video for that one here.

Supplies needed:

Wooden Craft Frame
Mod Podge (or white glue mixed with water)
Wrapping Paper or Tissue Paper
Brush

Paint frame with mod podge, tear tissue paper and press onto frame, cover frame let dry and paint over with mod podge and let dry!

We did another segment where we made lady bugs out of egg cartons! You can see it here.  I love egg carton crafts as we all have egg cartons around the house!

Supplies needed:

Egg Carton
Googly Eyes
Red and Black Acrylic paint
White Glue
Pipe Cleaners
Pen or Marker
Brush

Cut egg carton up, paint red and let dry, paint black dots let dry, poke wholes in the top (parent) wrap pipe cleaner around a marker to make squiggles and poke through hole, glue eyes on!  Kids love this craft so get them to make more than one lady bug!

I think it went really well!  :>  And we really enjoyed it, everyone at BT is so great and so kind!  :>  So easy to work with!

This one is my favorite you can see the glee on Ariel's face since she loves crafts and you can see that Jeremy is enjoying himself too!

Well that's it for me!  I will be back tomorrow with a card to share!
