Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Hero Arts Hostess Hop, featuring fabulous stamps from the new 2016 release and winter catalogue! It has been a long time since I have posted on this blog but here I am today!  Happy to be part of the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop!!  Being a Hero Arts Hostess Alumni is close to my heart. The ladies are all caring and a great group to be part of.  These days I don't find myself paper crafting near as often as I used to.  But I do craft everyday.  Basically I am crafting for a living lol!  I run my successful etsy shop Anita Rex Designs sending my handmade wreaths all over the world.

If you’ve been following along, you’ve just arrived from Kathy! Hero Arts will be awarding 4 prizes ($25 shopping spree to Hero Arts online shop) from randomly drawn comments. For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on Oct. 24th and 25th, including each day’s ending post at the Hero Club Blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning! If you find a broken link, you'll find a master list of the hop links at the Hero Arts Blog.
Today I am using the Grateful Leaves Stamp and Die Combo! I love this set! I was inspired to make some home decor instead of cards actually and thought to myself I may as well! I think stamps make fabulous cards but being able to make other stuff like home decor is a great idea! I am starting with what else but a wreath!!

I stamped with Hero Arts shadow inks: butter ball, red royal, cup o'joe, and just rite the leaves and die cut them. Placed them on a brown twine yarn wrapped wreath. Here's a close up of the leaves:

And I made another home decor project perfect for fall:

I made a fall garland by gluing more leaves on some twine!  (I used hot glue it works the best)  Looking around my house I decided the best place to put this twine was on this mirror.  I realize I should hang the fall wreath than the garland but this paper wreath is here to stay on this mirror (after falling and breaking several times I've finally adhered it right to the mirror and it won't be moving! LOL)

And that's it from me! I hope I've inspired you! The next stop along the hop is to Barb! Thank you so much for stopping by! I don't share too much here anymore but I do on my instagram page Anita Rex Designs and via facebook anitarexdesigns.facebook.com

My first card is quite me.  While I still paper craft and teach paper crafting classes my days are mostly spent making wreaths.  I have an etsy shop Anita Rex Designs where I sell my handmade burlap and yarn wreaths.  When I sat down to create for this hop using the new set by Hero Arts Stamp and Cut flowers I had one idea but than I put the flowers down like a wreath.  Seemed so fitting isn't it?

First I started this card by stamping the Hero Arts Waves background in wet cement, all inks on this card is HA:  Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, Mint Julep, Navy and Tide Pool.  I embossed the sentiment in Hero Arts gold embossing powder (hero Arts embossing powders are my favorite)  The banner and flower die really made this card come together much faster!

My second card for today also uses the Stamp and Cut Flowers along with the fantastic sentiment stamp Absolutely Awesome!

I stamped the flowers and leaves and twigs in Hero Arts ink Bubble Gum, Orange Soda.  And Memento's Toffee Crunch, Leaf Green and Rose Pink.  I embossed in Hero Arts White the sentiment!  A fun card!  I enjoy stamping backgrounds!

Thank you for stopping by today!  The next stop along the hop is my friend Cherion! If you would like to follow me you can find me on facebook.com/anitarexdesigns  If your on etsy I would love it if you Favorited my shop:  Anita Rex Designs  And you can find me on Instagram under AnitaRexDesigns Please leave me a comment and I will draw for one winner to win this stamp set Notebook Essentials next week.  Please leave your email with it you can leave it like this iwouldlovetowin  at gmail dot com  To keep it safe.

Mom Thank You!

Hello Happy Saturday!  I am excited to share that my etsy shop Anita Rex Designs has hit 300 sales!  Whooo hoo! I love making the wreaths and am so blessed with the success!  I have a lot of work to do!  The kids have a playdate and Chad is out on appointments so I thought I would take a break of making wreaths and before I make lunch to blog a card!  I used the set Thanks Bunches by Avery Elle that I was lucky to get as a pub incentive!  I got it a bit ago and finally inked it up making another Mother's Day card:

I used Hero Arts Pale Tomato, and Memento's Pear Tart.  Pretty straight forward what I did on this one layer card, added some sequins (yay the orange avery elle ones matched!)  I used a Hero Arts sentiment!

The weather is finally nice enough for the kids to play outside.  It started to get warm than it got freezing cold, than a bit warm, than rain and snow and now we are hopeful!  The kids are having a blast playing outside with the neighbor girl and I can get so much done!  We've already gone to the park a few times!  Once it was so cold and windy but if it's nice we go because tomorrow may not be nice!  :>

That's it from me!  I will be back still have more to share (yay!)  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Butterfly Mom Card!

Hello there!  Thought I would pop by with another Mother's Day card to share!  Yes a second card share from me in a week!  My card class has brought back the love of paper crafting for me!  I think the break did me good, with being so busy with wreaths if I take a break from creating wreaths to make a card I know exactly what I want to make and I create so much faster!  While I did take a break from paper crafting, I didn't take a break from shopping I have a lot of unopened stuff today I am sharing a card  this stamp set by Clearly Besotted Elegant Butterflies.  This is my first set by them, I like it, it's a bigger set for not that much extra.  While you all know how much I love flowers, my first love is butterflies.  I find stamping backgrounds with stamps to be relaxing, to save time I "assigned" each butterfly a clear block and a color so no cleaning and messing up colors:

I used Hero Arts inks:  Mint, Pale Tomato, Peach, and wet cement.  I added the Mom die cut by Simon Says Stamp (doubled the cardstock than die cut kinda hard to get this intricate die cut out, maybe I wish it was thicker font) and anchored it with a velum strip.  A pretty simple card but pretty.

Well it's a rainy gloomy day here!  Chad drove Ariel to school this morning and than realized that she forgot her backpack!  So he came back and is driving it to her, did I mention it's a 20 minute drive one way?  :<  I am off to work on some wreaths!  My shop is even busier this week!  :>

A WaterColour Butterfly Card!

It's me!  Yes me the girl who used to make tons of cards and than disappeared.  Anyone out there?  If anyone still cares...I have been buried under felt, burlap and wreath forms creating wreaths like crazy!  My etsy shop Anita Rex Designs has been doing so well!  I still am so many orders to create March saw my best month yet (Yes March I know who would have thought March?  My Egg Wreath was a HUGE hit!)  But I am currently teaching an intro to Card Making class at Creative Retirement Manitoba!  Last week was my first class of 4 this week's focus is die cutting!  While I was creating cards for the class I took the white fancy butterfly die by Hero Arts and derailed from preparing for the class and started watercolouring for fun the butterfly with the only watercolours I have, Ariel's crayola!.

HA! but it worked and it was fun and after a while of not making cards and struggling when I did a lightbulb went off and I made a card that I truly love

A side view:

A watercolour not bright rainbow slightly pastel butterfly!  It's hard to tell but it's not all green it is green and blue.... I asked my kids the color order for rainbows....you know to test them, they weren't too happy that I didn't do indigo (or purple apparently I only did one and neither could agree to which one)

After I started at my card for a bit with love, hey it's been a while I created a card I love I finished and made one of the cards for the class:

As you can see I was left with a bunch of white butterflies so I am sending along for them to finish at home the plain white butterfly (to color any way they choose) a white card and a die cut word!

Well that's it for me today!  I did create another card for the class and than another card for me (yay) so I hope to be back later this week with more to share!  Thank you for stopping by!  Remember a great way to keep up with me is through my facebook account here!

Valentines Day 2014!

Hello!  Happy Valentines Day to you!  Hope you have been enjoying your day and that's it's been full of love! Both kids had school today so Chad and I had a day date (yay no need for babysitters) I thought I would pop in and share a winner from my previous posts and all our Valentine preparations!

The kids and I together made these tags, mostly me but they did do a lot (in total almost 50!)

I used Taylored Expressions My Punny Valentine stamp set, it's the perfect set for treats! Stapled them to a bag of Goldfish crackers! I also used old Valentine papers, even though I have some from current lines I can't seem to use it when I use a big supply for my kids classmates.  Not sure why but it is what it is!  I had a lot of older Valentine paper!

I made this tag for the squeezable applesauce and these homemade Valentines to put in my kids lunches at school!  Ariel told me when I picked her up how funny she thought it was!

For the kids classes I made chocolate covered marshallow pops, easy when you have to make 50!

And lastly I made Ariel this wool felt heart hair clip to wear to school, I left it on the table for her to find at breakfast!  Since it was the last thing I made at past 11 I glued the hair pin on backwards so she had to wear it differetly!  Opps lol!

And the winner of two stamp sets from Hero Arts offered at the Hero Arts hostess blog hop is:

Hero Hostess Blog Hop!

Hello there!  I am absolutely delighted to be taking part in the 2014 Catalog Blog Hop with the Hero Arts Hostesses!  I will never forget my delight in 2011 about this time of year when I got that email asking me to be a hostess!  I cried with joy!  Hero Arts stamps have always been and always will be my favorite.  The company is run amazingly by amazing and talented people, and the stamps are such high quality and great images!

You should have arrived here from the super talented Emily's blog or if you would like to start at the beginning please visit the Hero Arts Blog!

Hero Arts will be  giving away three big prize packs containing an assortment of brand new products from the 2014 catalogue.  For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on ANY day, including each day’s starting post at the Hero Club Blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!
Today I will be sharing two cards with you!  They both use the set Lil Hoot OWH
I love this set!  The images are so cute and the sentiments are unique and perfect! This set has been quite popular by us Hostesses because it's such a great set!

For this card I also used the Hero Arts set New Ideas.  I stamped the numbered note pad with Hero Arts Tide Pool ink and adhered it on an angle.  I stamped the bears with black staz on and using inks and water and a small paint brush I painted them.  I used some patterned paper by My Minds Eye's Cupids Arrow #14.  I thought that the hearts were fitting as you can see the love between the bears!  I can't wait to slide this card into one of my sweet kids lunch!  I finished the card with enamel dots as I love them!

I love felt since I work with it for my wreaths and I decided to stamp the elephants on some wool grey felt!  Don't the elephants look so cute?  I stamped them twice once on white felt and fussy cut the husk and nails! It was easy I used staz on black ink and just held the stamp there longer so the ink could "seep" into the material and slowly pulled it away.  I added googly eyes as it made them so much cuter!  For this card I also used the Hero Arts background stamp Tiny Flag Background.  I stamped it with Hero Arts Mint Julep.  Added a strip of patterned paper by My Minds eye and some enamel dots!
Well that's it for me!  I hope I've left you inspired and wanting to also get some new Hero Arts stamps! :>  The next stop along the hop is the wonderful Nancy!

But I can't leave you without the chance to win a prize!  You can win both these stamps!  ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LEAVE A COMMENT AND YOUR EMAIL!  YOU WILL ONLY HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN IF YOU LEAVE A EMAIL SO I CAN CONTACT YOU!  If you are wary of leaving your email type it out like myemail @ gmail dot com.  I would also love it if you liked my facebook page!  I keep it better updated.  Click here to go to it!  To search it's Anita Rex Designs
