It's no secret that heat embossing is my favorite! I love it! I had a card idea in my head and it involved heat embossing onto dark cardstock but my embossing buddy was being no buddy of mine! What's a girl to do? Why not try cornstarch? So I brushed it onto the card and stamped and heat embossed and it look it turned out fabulous! The embossing buddy is getting lower on the priority list! See it works:
Supplies:
Stamps: WPlus9 Design Studio: Quite Like You, Embroidered Bouquet
Ink: Versamark by Tsuneko
Cardstock: Bazzill
Twine by Doodlebug
White Embossing Powder by Hero Arts (the best white)
cornstarch
My next card is one that a friend asked for, she wanted a card for her daughter's teacher, a teacher appreciation and baby card! I may have been stumped! Teacher appreciation and a baby card and they don't know the gender? I was really pleased with myself and what I came up with!
I embraced the teacher appreciation with the sentiment, the alphabet background (white on kraft so it's subtle) and the notebook stamp and the small wooden clip! And I embraced the baby part with the giraffe and elephant! Sticking with a neutral color scheme worked well!
Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts: Notebook paper, Alphabet background, Many Thanks (A baby set by Papertrey Ink can't remember the name too lazy to look!)
Ink: Frost White by colorbox, Tide Pool, Bubble gum pink, cup of joe by Hero Arts
Cardstock: bazzill

Both so cute! I especially like the CAS design of the first one and that stamp is really sweet!
Love the contrast of the light embossing on dark cardstock! And your 2nd card is very sweet. I don't think I could have come up with anything for a teacher appreciation & baby combo.
So glad your little ones are on the mend. I love the clean crispness of your embossed card. Gorgeous.
You are so clever to have thought of cornstarch! It never would have crossed my mind! The look is incredible.I think cornstarch would be good for a snowy effect too.
I love the 2nd card. The animals and paper you chose are adorable!
There are fabulous cards, Anita! I love the white embossing on the navy on the first one! And your baby card is so sweet!
Just love both cards, Anita, but that baby/appreciation card is adorable!!
Great cards. I love that bouquet.
lovely cards Anita. And I've been enjoying seeing your summer photos on FB. Sorry to hear, though, that the kids have been unwell. Hope they feeling better.
I don't have a google account, but I am Julie H from Minnesota! I really enjoy your cards, crafts, sense of humor (the silhouette comment)and reading about your family. My boys are 19 and 24 so to hear these stories warms my heart! Your baby card is adorable! Enjoy the summer with your kids....lucky to be home with them!
So glad that the kids are better. No fun to be ill with school out. Love these cards - the elegance of the white on blue and your solution to the unusual request really rocks! Have fun, dear gal. Thanks for all you do.
Hi, Anita! I love that white design against the dark blue of the first card! And, the baby card is adorable; love the background. Hope the kids say healthy and you can enjoy the summer days with them. Summer does not last long enough for me!!
