kids Halloween Crafts!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  If you are looking for the Freckled and Fun Deck the Halls blog hop please click here.  Today Ariel and I were on Breakfast television again doing kids Halloween Crafts!  I was so excited to be asked back!  I think it went quite well!  Ariel was a bit shy it takes her a bit to warm up to someone or something new!  If you would like to watch the video please click HERE!  I don't know if the video is available to all but here is a photo from the show of us crafting:

I wanted to share here the crafts that we did starting with the Googly Eye Halloween picture frame:

What you need:

Craft Wooden Frame (I got mine at Michael's it was cheap at $1.50 and they have lots)
Acrylic Paint either light green or light purple
Lots of different sized Googly Eyes
White Glue

This frame is a lot of fun to make!  Well anything with googly eyes is fun to make!  Have your child paint the frame and set aside to dry.  When it's dry glue googly eyes all of it!  This craft is good for various aged children as I helped Ariel glue the eyes on and an older child could do it themselves.  If you want it super easy just paint the glue on and put the eyes on the wet painted glue!

Egg Carton Spider

What you need:

Egg carton
Googly Eyes
Black paint
Pipe cleaners

I love crafts that you can use items that would otherwise be recycled or thrown away!  I especially love egg carton crafts as you always have eggs in the house!

For this craft cut apart the egg carton (this should be done by the parent) and have your child paint it black, let dry and than the parent poke wholes along the sides and have the child put in pipe cleaners and bend them to make legs!  Than glue the googly eyes on!

And the craft that I shared on the show, Lollypop spiders:

What you need:

Round Lollypops
4 Black Pipecleaners

Googly Eyes
White Glue

1.  Center the pipe cleaner on the lollipop stick and tightly twist them, repeat 4 times to make 8 legs.
2.  Glue on googly eyes
3. Bend legs to make spider!

There you go!  I hope it inspires you to create with your kids!

Excited to be joining Freckled and Fun Fabulous Four!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  I am really excited to be here today as part of Freckled and Fun Fabulous Four!  I am excited to help promote Beth Silaika's stamps for Gina K Stamps!  You can view Beth's stamps here, she has some great ones!  You can view her blog here.

Today I am sharing a card I created using the new set Deck the Halls!  What a great Holiday set this is and I didn't have any trouble coming up with a card for today!

I am working with a digital file of the set today and not sure if you can tell but my printer is running out of ink and left stripes of a different color.  But I think it looks pretty great!    First I embossed a piece of kraft cardstock with a snowflake cuttlebug folder, than swiped the edges with white pigment ink.  I fussy cut the ornaments and the pretty hanging loops, added some twine in behind to have them hang off!  Added a strip of patterned paper from the new Bella Carta line, love the bright colors!

I hope you join us today and hop along to see what other fabulous creations have been made with this Deck the Halls stamp set!  You can get the hop list here.

Well that's it from me!  Thank you for stopping by today!

Favorite Gel a Tins Cards!

Happy Sunday my Crafty Friends!  We've enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend as a family!  :>  Yesterday I had my last post as a gelatina on the Gel a Tins blog!  It's been a great and fast 6 months with them!  I may be done as a gelatina but soon I will have other crafty news to share!  Thought I would pop in and share here on my blog what I posted there, my favorite cards I shared as a gelatina!

I used the Gel a Tins Sweet Cakes for this card.  I really enjoyed making this one  :>

I used a gelly jr Stop stamp for this card, as soon as I got this stamp this came to mind.  I printed the sentiment!  Are you singing the song too?

I used my favorite Gelly jr stamp for this, the Doodle Flower one!

And lastly maybe my favorite card I ever made for Gel a tins is:

In my last post I mentioned that I wasn't feeling my best.  I still feel slightly under the weather but I never got really sick.  I had a tickle in my throat and did what I learned in vocal therapy.  I massaged my throat and larynx a lot!  Really helped!  I am currently taking group vocal therapy because of all the vocal issues I have had.  I have learned a lot and have to practice how to use my voice better. It's been interesting meeting other people who have the same problems I have!

And that's it from me!  Have dinner with my side of the family tonight!  The kids love seeing there Baka and Djeda!  :>

Oh and make sure you come back on Tuesday I will have something exciting to share, maybe like I did a few weeks ago....

Leaping Rudolf!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  Hope your having a great day!  I've been enjoying my day to myself!  Although I feel a bit under the weather I have been enjoying having some time to myself! Crafted, relaxed and cleaned the house top to bottom.  It was close to it so it didn't take too long.

Today I have a card on the Scrapbooking Cafe Online's Blog!

I used Spellbinders Hexagons Nestabilities, and Memory Box's Leaping Deer dies!  And Simple Stories Handmade Holiday collection!

Well that's it from me!  I am going to go and try to catch a nap in the peace and quiet!  Not often I can do that!  :>

Someone Special!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  Hope your having a wonderful day!  Busy with life over here and working on wreath orders!  :>  Today I got my hair done, tried a new hairdresser and she is pretty great!  Last night planned a coffee date for my girlfriends and it turned into a learn to knit night!  I am passionate about being creative and wanted to continue with my journey as a creative artist and want to learn to knit!  My friend Sophie knows how to knit so we planned for her to show me.  Than on facebook I saw my good friend Jenn talking about starting to knit to so I invited her to join us!  It was four of us and while my friend Lisa knew how to knit she said it had been years.  All four of us enjoyed coffee and knit!  Lisa said it encouraged her to knit again and Jenn got some questions answered by Sophie and I got my first lesson!  So I am learning!  I wish I could just sit there and do it but I have a few other crafty things on my plate too.  But I will do it.  Actually I've learned that knitting is becoming a lost art.  Not as many women knit anymore and that is sad!  I have also heard that there is a strong need in my city for what is called a hospital blanket for older patients in the hospital/hospice it's a like bolero sweater that has sleeves and covers the back.  Maybe one day I can knit one of those!  Next I want to learn is crochet!  And soon I will get my mother who is an amazing and well trained taylor teach me again how to sew!

Today I have a card to share with my favorite stamp Floral Blossoms by Hero Arts.  It's been well a long time since I have touched the stamp.  When I first got it I really enjoyed it and may have overused it.  I think of this stamp as my lucky flower stamp maybe because every card I've made with it has been published except two and one was a Easter card and the other got me to be one of the Top 20 for Gallery Idol 2012!  So if your wondering why did I ever stop using that stamp I am wondering too.  LOL!

I paired this stamp with some pp by Pebbles, stamped the flower with Turquoise gem by tsuenko and moss green by colorbox and fussy cut them.  Paired it with a sentiment from Good Friends by Hero Arts!

Well that's it from me!  I am off to work on birthday invites for Ariel!  She is so excited for her upcoming birthday!

Good Tidings this Christmas!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  It's finally sunny outside!  Seems like the weather has been overcast and dreary for so long that I am so happy to finally have some sunshine!  Ariel and I went for a walk as soon as the sun started to shine this afternoon!  I hope the sun is here to stay!  Our province is actually called Sunny Manitoba and known for it's sunshine!  A cold winter is so much easier to take if it's sunny!  Same goes for such a cool fall!

Today I have some Christmas cards to share!  One design and 4 cards made!  This past weekend I've been enjoying making Christmas cards!

I used a new set by Hero Arts for Basic Grey Aspen Frost collection Happy Holidays!  Along with another new set, my favorite sentiment one Miracle of the Holidays!  Pretty straightforward card, but I loved making them!

We had such a great weekend!  Ariel had a 4 day weekend!  On Thursday we enjoyed a home day, Friday we went to the Children's museum with friends, hung out with the cousins and later went to church as they had fireworks!  Saturday we went to Community Day at the movie theater and saw Kung Fu Panda 2 in 3D, it was free and popcorn and such were $2 and proceeds went to charity! Today we went to church and have enjoyed a lazy Sunday afternoon at home!  What great family time!

This past week I am happy to share that I had my first etsy sale!  I sold my first wreath on etsy!  It took less than a month and I may have been beginning to think it would never happen but it did! YAY!  I also finished up a custom order for a friend (she got it made as a gift) in new to me colors!  So happy with how it turned out!

I made my first multi color flower!  I really like this wreath and that yarn!  I am hoping to get going on Christmas wreaths this week.  I have been wrapping wreaths as a passenger in the car lately, I have 4 wreaths all wrapped and waiting for flowers!

Well that's it for me today!  See you soon!
