Hello! Today is a special day indeed as it's World Card Making Day! Yay! It's been a quiet day over here and I am working on some cards! Hero Arts is having a wonderful contest of making a card with your favorite colors! I am excited about this challenge as I have a lot of favorite colors, or favorite colors to use together. I am more of a favorite colors to use together. I love kraft, red and brown together. I also love pink, brown and orange. Another favorite is aqua blue with anything....
Over on the Hero Arts Flickr group a few of us thought it would be fun to have a hop showing your first card and a current card! So I went hunting through my computer to find one of my first cards. Just like you (probably) I didn't take a picture of my first card I ever made but this one is one of the first I did take a picture of! It's a card I remember making and loving. It was one of the thank you cards I made after Carter was born! I think I gave this to my OBGYN!
And here is the first card I ever uploaded to the Hero Arts Flickr group!
And here is a new card! I am also going to enter this into the Stamping Month at Two Peas challenge which is to use that stamp or supply you've been itching to use!
For me it's the musical background stamp, so happy that I got it! I love it because I love to sing!
I inked the nestie with wild honey ink than stamped the poppies on it, masking one of the poppies and hand drawing the rest of the stems. Than I colored the poppies with my prisma pencil, than I did a technique I that one of the HA ladies told me about at Scrapfest. I painted with water and perfect pearls and a brush over the poppies and let it dry. It's my first time trying it, it looks a bit messy but kinda cool too! So much shine! I stamped the musical background with vintage photo ink and distressed the edges! I also colored some pearls with a black sharpie and added them to the middle!

So fun to see the difference from then to now! Love the way you used the Music Background with the poppies, Anita! Just beautiful! Happy WCM day to you! :)
Beautiful card Anita.... and so much improvement.... I also use diluted Liquid Pearls to paint over my pencils.... gives the same look. Really makes them sparkle and shine. Glad you have had a great WCMD....
Love seeing the old and new...soooo fun!!! Your cards are simply beautiful!
Happy World Card Making Day, Anita! It's lovely to see a couple of your beautiful first cards and the card you made today is wonderful!
very pretty card, Anita!! have a wonderful Sunday!
How interesting to see your first cards and now your latest, which is so pretty. Love the coloring on your poppies.
First I want to say thanks for providing us with the idea to Blog Hop for this special day, and also to say sorry for not sharing my first card that I uploaded to our HA group in my post. I must have missed that part. Anyway, I am so happy to be here and to see your wonderful creations. It is so amazing isn't it to look back and to see where we were and how far we have come. The same can be seen in life I guess and we all have something to be thankful for today. Your cards are beautiful and your style really has changed hasn't it. Your work is great. Thanks for this fun hop! Hugs!
