Snowflake embossed button

Happy Tuesday! I can't believe that November is almost over and Christmas is just over a month away! This fall is speeding by! I have yet to start my Christmas shopping! I am not worried, I love to shop, and I am a great speedy shopper! I also like to shop in December, that way it feels as if I am Christmas shopping!

I may not have started my Christmas shopping but I have been busy creating all sorts of Christmas goodies! Today I have one card to share. I have been having all sorts of comments on my use of patterned paper and such. I love patterned paper! I often take my inspiration for colors from the paper! I am always on the hunt for great paper! Sometimes I buy stacks but lately I have been buying more single paper. One of the difficulties on using PP with stamping is matching the images and such. I tend to favor PP in smaller prints, stripes (oh how I love stripes) and dot patterns! I also like to create my own PP with stamping and such but I feel that I need more stamps to do that! (but really do we ever feel as if we have enough?) I also try not to hoard my PP it goes out of style or I fall out of love with it so I like ot try to use it as soon as I can. And I often make more than one card from a single piece of paper. Sometimes I focus on one or two PP's and color scheme and make several different cards with that one. It's quite time saving! Anyways onto today's card! I used PP from Basic Grey's Eskimo kisses line getting my color inspiration from that. I stamped the tree from a HA set but my favorite part of this card is the button! It's a clear HA button that I embossed a HA snowflake onto! I saw this technique done by Kristina Werner I think for HA a while ago. I always remembered it and when I finally got some clear buttons I was able to do it!

A close up of the button. I used tweezers to hold the whole button when I stamped the button onto the stamp. In KW's video she shows holding the button with the holes but my tweezers wouldn't do that! It took a few button tries to figure it out and get it well but you can scrape off with your finger the embossing and try again.

Products used: Bazill cardstock, Michael's ribbon, stickles, colorbox moss green and silver pigment ink, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses PP, Ha stamps: tree CL113, words and snowflake: CL343,star: CL354, SU scalloped border punch.

I also wanted to share one of my daughter's first drawings. Her name is Ariel, and it's quite fitting that her first drawing is of a mermaid of course! She has always been into coloring and crafting but just last week started to draw people, I am quite impressed she just turned 4! Also it's a little funny! I had a good laugh and had to share it! Can you see why I find it so funny?

I also wanted to wish all my American friends a Happy Thanksgiving! May you enjoy this special time with the ones you love! And may you have a really really good dinner topped with the perfect pumpkin pie (my favorite!)

not yet winter here

It's deep into November and we are still experiencing beautiful weather! After such a bad summer I suppose it's deserved! Usually we would be deep into snow and cold cold weather! Today I have quite a few cards to share. The first two are actually from last week's Hero Arts challenge! I did manage to submit them in time but was way to exhausted to blog about it! Than I put off blogging since my space key and me are not working in harmony! Tonight oh keyboard you meet the bathtub! Unless I figure out how to get the dishwasher to not use hot water...

The first card uses the Grand Snowflake stamp again by HA. I stamped it in versamark and than embossed it with iridescent embossing powder! How much I love this card! The PP is from a Christmas stack by Mind's Eye and it has glitter too!

Products used: Bazill cardstock, My Mind's eye PP, eksuccess punch, grand snowflake HA stamp, Cl343 HA, michaels ribbon, iridescent powder.

The angel card is made with the Let the Angel's Sing stamp set by HA. I love this stamp set. When I saw it in the sneak peaks on the HA blog I wanted it! A few weekends ago my gf was visiting MOA and I was lucky that she picked it up for me! I covered her with two sided tape and than burnished glitter on to her! I also used stickles all over the ribbon and felt snowflake and button!

Products used: Let the Angels Sing HA stamp set, bazill cardstock, snowflake by SU, button by Making Memories, My Minds Eye PP, stickles and stampendous glitter.

I made this card a bit ago, actually I made 10 of them! I picked this stamp set up at my LSS. It's a cute BoBunny one! It was a great idea to tie the silver cord but not so easy, hint to use your tweezers to pull the cord through when tieing the bow!

Products used: Eskimo Kisses PP by Basic Grey, Merry Christmas stamp set by BoBunny, Merry Christmas sentiment by HA343, Stickles, Bazill cardstock.
And my last card to share today is a baby shower invite I made for a friend. She contacted me and ordered 10 for a baby girl shower. I used the Close to my heart set Baby Steps on it. I paper pieced some of the outfits, glittered others and used fun flock to make the cute fuzzy sleeper! Isn't this so cute? (this one is the worst one which I kept due to the buckling..)

Products used: Bazill cardstock, PP by Michaels, Baby Steps by Close to My Heart, Glitter by Doodlebug, Fun flock by stampendous.

Hope all of you have been having a fantastic week! I did want to share that last week I was so blessed to be able to attend a Darlene Zschech and Hillsong concert! It was amazing to be able to worship singing her songs that she has written with her as the leader! What an amazing experience! For those of you who don't know who he is she has written many amazing songs and it is said that on sundays 20 million people sing her songs!

unexpected christmas

It's been a bit since I last posted. I have been hard at work with Christmas cards and tags. And I have been busy with life! I wanted to post earlier this week but my space key was on the fritz, most of the time it wouldn't work, and when it did it worked too much! It was quite frustrating and I wasn't able to comment on other people's work! Today I have a Christmas card to share. It's for the current Hero Arts challenge of unexpected colors in Christmas cards! I made a Christmas card with pink and black! I love that color combo and thought it would be fun to make a Christmas card with those colors!

Products used: Bazill cardstock, black and iridescent embossing powder, Making Memories Sabrina paper, ribbon, scalloped circle mauvy punch, HA Grand Snowflake stamp, versamark, stazon black.

I picked up this new snowflake stamp at Michael's, love it! It's big and bold and stunning! I stamped the snowflake with versamark and than embossed it with iridescent powder. And I also embossed the main snowflake in black. I also wasn't sure on placement for the sentiment so I saved it for last and stamped it with stazon and it stamped really well over the embossing! I love how this card turned out!

I also wanted to share a week late my kids in there costumes! Nothing is cuter than kids all dressed up! I laughed so hard at Carter, he was adorable and I heard many people coo about how cute he was all night!

We borrowed Carter' s costume from some friends, he just fit! I laughed so hard at how it smushed his face!

Ariel was a fairy! Ain't she pretty? She loves her costume and has worn it so much this week around the house!

Carter also just learnt how to walk! Ain't he cute?

And lastly to make you laugh here is Carter the way I found him one morning while Ariel was a preschool. I heard him making funny noises! I had hidden the muffin in haste the day before when guests were on the way over earlier than they were supposed to be!
