Hello all! Happy last weekend of August! How sad is that? Sigh so dreading the end of summer! Although we have been blessed with such a hot and dry summer! And no mosquitoes when usually they are so bad here! This past week has been so hot that the kiddies and me have spent 4 out of 5 days at a pool! Yes a bit much but always with friends which makes it even funner plus the end of summer is almost here, I am trying to soak in this heat as much as I can!
I am here with a new Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday challenge! This week our sponsor is the Canadian stamp company (love Canadian like me!) Your Next stamp!
Our challenge this week is VERY fitting for this time of year, it's Back to School!
So 12 days left until my princess my sweetheart my only little girl goes to grade 1. I had been handling it quite well. Until the other day. I have been tying not think about it because I cried almost all day when she went to kindergarten! Now she will be in school fulltime! I have been trying to think of it as mornings of just Carter and me, lunch than his nap and my time! Than he wakes up and she comes home to my arms! :> But I will miss her terribly. I think what makes it easier is that she was apprehensive of kindergarten but she really wants to go to grade 1. And I know that she can handle it. But I will admit I am sad I so should not have written about this as I will admit I am crying right now! Kids grow up too fast!
This is so stinkin cute! I love the pencil, buttons and twine! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the pencil and the paper colors are gorgeous. I'm sure your daughter will soar into first grade, but it is hard to do too! My youngest went to kindergarten this year. Time certainly does go fast!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love how you added the pencil...brilliant!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this card, Anita! Love it!
ReplyDeleteCountdown to Scrapfest. . .20 days! :)
Hi Anita! I think your card is great and super creative with that pencil! Oh, I am sorry that your heart is hurting! I feel the same about Natasha when she goes to school, I really, really miss her and look so forward to her coming home! Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! The addition of the pencil makes it so perfect! And of course, your line paper and buttons are super cute in this, too! Aw...I know how you must feel about your princess going to Grade 1 full time! My (big) princess is traveling in China with a group of friends..I'm counting down the days of her return! So yeah, one day at a time! You'll get there:)
ReplyDeleteSuper duper cuteness!!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is adorable! I'm sure it's hard to let your little girl go to school full-time. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute colors and design on this! I dread Summer ending too and cold weather is coming before you know it, but I do like my kiddo in school. he loves it too!
ReplyDeletetotally cute card Anita.... and yes it is hard to see them growing up... but know you have prepared her well for this transition... She will love the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love this Anita! I love that you didn't have any back to school themed stamps and created a brilliant card using paper, alpha letters and a real pencil! I am telling you, this is brilliant!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel you about back to school. My only boy started Kindergarden last Monday. It was a rough week. And I am already dreading tomorrow knowing I have to take him back to school. Wah....
You make great cards! Thank you for stopping by at my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteAnita, this card is ERFECT for the challenge and absolutely adorable! I am so drawn to these colors...great job!
ReplyDeleteI feel your sadness...my baby will be going into first grade next week, too. It is shocking how fast time is flying...I know everyone always says that and it is so true. I cherish our times together and I miss his baby years as they get farther away. He did a full day of kindergarten last year, and it was an adjustment. He seemed to grow up so fast that year! Good luck to your kids as they go back to school...enjoy your last few days together!
I am amazed at the cute card you made just using a cute patterned paper and alphabet stamps. The twine and pencil make this card so special, Anita!
ReplyDeleteIt is really hard to watch the kids go off to school. At least you still have one little one at home. I remember the first days of school for my children; very bittersweet times.
What a way to be creative and make such a fantastic card! And a touching story too, I hope you make it through the month of September as you get used to her going to school!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea to glue an actual pencil to the card! I must admit my stash would be similarly woeful in regards to 'back to school' stuff so I'm in the same boat as you. Though obviously not as clever and innovative!
ReplyDeleteThis card is so cute and fun, Anita! Love!
ReplyDeletethis is just too cute...love the REAL PENCIL!!!
ReplyDeleteHow clever and so adorable! Love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Anita! I love that you used a real pencil.
ReplyDeleteAnita, I love how you improvised with your school supplies! I love your pattern paper choice and the pencil is a great embellishment!
