What a perfect challenge for this season!  I love to sing and love Christmas Music so!  We have been listening to it every chance we get and our children love it too!  I got to play with some Denami stamps for my card and loved them, stamp beautifully!  My song was Angles We Have Heard On High, one of my favorites!  Here is my card:

I stamped the angel in chestnut roam ink on cream cardstock, and embossing the sentiment with clear embossing on the pp.  The twine adds the perfect touch, it's from the Twinery

December Daily First Page!

Hello!  A quick post as I am about to run out the door to my first ever parent teacher conference!  Eek!  Ariel brought home a great report card so I am not that nervous but still I hated it when my parents went!  I finished Day 1 of my December Daily!  We had professional photos taken of our family  for our Christmas card and I mentioned to our photographer that I was doing the December Daily (which she has done before!) and that I was going to use a picture from our session when we got it.  She was so kind to email me one of our family photos so here's my first page:

As you can tell I am using a shaped album.  It's about 5 by 7.  I figure it's easier for me since I haven't scrapbooked before!  I went with a white and silver color scheme since it complimented the picture and let the picture shine.  I embossed in silver the Hero Arts snowflakes from 2 sets.  I thought the sentiment worked and didn't journal as there wasn't much room.  I still need to buy some numbers!  I still have to cut out the wholes for the coil, need to figure out how to do that without being too messy!

Well I am off looking forward to going to a baby shower for my close friend tonight.  I mentioned a bit ago about waiting for her to have her baby since she didn't know the gender and had 2 boys already, well she had a girl!  We are so excited for her!  Can't wait to celebrate by giving her some dresses I bought!

Happy December!

Happy December!  I am so excited that it's here!  Looking at what's coming up this month I can either think it's going to be crazy and busy or I can choose to think how excited I am to go to several of my children's Christmas concerts, to spend time with family and friends while fitting in everyday life, a partime job and Christmas shopping!  Yesterday while blog hopping I "discovered" the December Daily by Ali Edwards.  I had seen several of you do it last year and thought it was cool.  Yesterday it hit me that I should do it.  Here are my reasons: We have a lot going on in December it would be nice to document it! ; We have a lot going in in December I SHOULD DO IT!; I haven't scrapbooked before so it would be a nice way to start and have something for my kids;  Chad loves Christmas so once this is put together I think he will love this too;  I have A LOT of supplies and an cute album too!  I don't know how I get myself into these things but now that I have decided I am doing it!  God grant me strength!  I will be back tomorrow with my first page.  I would like to say that I am going to be blogging everyday my pages but lets not kid each other!  Plus I have discovered that the light for taking photos is gone by 4 o'clock!

Yesterday the Hero Arts Flickr group had a 90 minute scramble, and the challenge was a one layer Christmas card!  I thought for a bit and than remembered that I had been planning a winter version of my birdie card.  If you remember I made a summer version here and a fall version here.  I didn't want to make the winter version until after we had snow, which we do now!

I stamped the tree branches and birds the same as the two other cards but colored it differently.  Than I added liquid perfect pearls for snow and added some glitter on top.  I thought it was fun to add snow to the birds backs!  After the liquid pearls it came to me so stamp some snowflakes and with it being a 90 minute challenge I couldn't wait until the perfect pearls dried!  So I stamped it and only smudged one spot!  Love this card!  I very much enjoyed making them all!  A spring one may be similar to the summer but I think I will have to make it!

Well I better run!  It's late over here!  Happy 1st day of December to you!

Button Snowman Gift Card Holder Card

Hello!  Happy Monday!  Currently the snow is coming down!  So much of it!  I am thankful for a hubby who does the shoveling in this relationship!  Home today with the kids, planning on starting the Christmas baking!  Hopefully some of this will make it's way to the freezer unlike the other day's baking that made it's way to our tummies. :>

Happy to say that I did start my Christmas shopping this weekend, I bought Carter two Cars toys lol!  But it's a start!  A long ways to go....

Today I have a card for the current challenge at Caardvarks which is to make a gift card holder.  I decided to play with my PTI set Holiday Button Bits that I got last year.  Haven't seen all that many people playing with it online this year but I don't care it took forever to get here and I hardly played with it last year!

Love this color combo!  I used pp from a Christmas stack by My Minds Eye.  I embossed the cardstock with a snowflake folder by Cuttlebug.  The ric rac is felt that I cut with my PTI die.  I sponged ink onto the nestie while it was still in the die like I see so many other card makers do!  I loved how Lucy did the pocket inside her card so I had my mom sew this panel inside the card!

I hope you have a great week and make a big dent in your Christmas shopping! :>

Bowtiful Ribbon!

Hello!  Happy last Saturday of November!  Less than a month until Christmas now!  I hope your doing better than me as I am sick!  Currently I have no voice and for me this is the WORST THING EVER!  I am very talkative and I miss being able to talk!  Expect this to be a very wordy post!  All in all I haven't felt absolutely horrible and I have been getting better fast (although how long does it take for one's voice to come back already!) I didn't have any fevers and haven't been confined to my bed or anything.  The worst of it is losing my voice.  I miss talking!

I am here with another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  This week our challenge is Bowtiful Ribbon!  And our sponsor is Charleston Scrapbook Company!  Such a wonderful prize they have provided for our winner, a bow maker!

I love this week's challenge as I love ribbon on my cards and I think most of us do!  I went with a Christmas card as I am currently making a lot of them these days!

I started with a cream card which I distressed the edges with vintage photo (TH), than I stamped the magical background (HA) on top in the vintage photo.  I stamped the trees with the vintage photo also and colored with green inks by memento.  The brown panel was embossed with a snowflake folder by Cuttlebug, here is a close up:

After I embossed it I inked it with my versmark pad to add definition to the raised embossing since the paper is so dark.  It really helps bring attention to it!  I tied a red ribbon in a bow and finished it with a silver snowflake!

I hope that you will join us this week! You have until Friday December 3, 2010 11:59pst to play!  For more info please click here, and don't forget to check out and leave love for my fellow DT!  Thank you for visiting today and your always kind comments!

Retro Christmas Tags

Hi everyone!  Hope your having a great Tuesday!  Today I have two tags that I made to share.  I used my set Retro Christmas by Practicing Creativity, I won this set in October and love it!  Here they are:

I stamped the Hero Arts magical background in white on kraft first.  For the reindeer one I free hand cut the snow embossed it with a swirl folder than lined the cliff and some of the swirls with glossy accents and doused it with glitter! Stamped the sentiment twice so that I could break it apart!  For the tree one I also stamped it with the background and stamped the candy cane on white and cut it out.  Stamped the trees in different greens separately cut it out and added stickles!  I am also entering this into this weeks challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Blog which is Sparkle!

Hope your having a great day!

Blooming Meadow Card Set and Purse

Hello!  Happy Monday!  Winter has arrived here in Winnipeg!  Oh the snow!  Friday it came down all day and we spent the day at home and it was wonderful!  The kids enjoyed playing outside in it although Carter hasn't mastered walking in the snow!  We had to rescue him a few times, once he was crying and Ariel was calling Chad to come and help him "I love him you need to get him!"  How sweet!  It snowed more on Saturday, Sunday and it's coming down right now!  Driving in the snow has been an adjustment, it's funny how you forget!  I worked at the mall this weekend and it was NUTS I guess with the snow the Christmas bug has hit! (Thankful I only work 5 hour shifts that's for sure!) I bought Ariel two winter hats, I couldn't help it, I love cute animal hats, I got her a owl and monkey one!  I bought Carter a puppy one last week!  Such good sales I am lucky I made it out of there alive and didn't spend too much!

Today I have another card purse to share!  I like that the current Hero Arts contest includes gifts!  I think this is a great gift!  For this one I played with my blooming meadow stamp:

First I stamped the magical background (by HA) with gray ink on white cardstock.  Than I colored the blooming meadow stamp with markers and sprayed it with water mixed with perfect pearls and stamped it!  Finished with a bow and a sentiment stamped on the bottom!

I have actually been  quite busy creating lately so I have a lot to share in the next little while!  Hopoe your week starts out great!
