A card and photos from my brother's wedding!

Hello!  I am so sorry my blog has been so quiet.  This past weekend my brother got married!  He's my only sibling so it's a big deal!  First up I do have a card to share with you, it's from my Scrapbooking Cafe Online weekly share just a bit late on my blog.  Last week was crazy with preparations!

For more details on this card please check out this post here.

What a fabulous wedding my brother had!  :>  First off I just want to say that he couldn't have chosen a better bride, Oksana is not only beautiful but a beautiful person too.  I am so blessed to call her my sister in law!  The wedding was held at the Ukrainian Catholic church Oksana and her family attend.  It was a traditional ceremony.  Both my kids were in the wedding Ariel as a flower girl and Carter as a ring bearer.  I was so excited for them!  And they were too, but quite nervous!  One big blessing was that Oksana had her two nieces as flower girls too and the kids all got along amazingly!  They had so much fun together!  We had a lot of out of town guests come to!  My mom's cousin from Miami came, my Aunt and Uncle with her grand daughter from Edmonton came and another of my mom's cousin from Toronto came!  My brother also had a lot of friends come too from all over!  Here are some special photos, can you tell Carter was nervous?

 Isn't this the sweetest?

At the ceremony we also had a lot of family photos taken!   Between the ceremony and reception we took the kids home for a nap!  Here's a bunch of photos from the reception:

Ariel and Aliana became great friends!  Don't you love the dress?  I so do!  And I had to get Ariel a tiara to go with it!

My new sister and me!  :>  My wonderful friend Tracey did my makeup for me!  I was torn as to what to do with my hair as my hairdresser was booked.  I was so nervous to try someone new and when I found this feather hair pin at Michaels I decided to go with this look!  :>

My brother and Carter!

Katrina and Carter played so well together, he also listened really good to her!  Here she is telling him to smell the flowers!

 My brother and I!
During the first dance Carter and Ariel danced with each other!  It was so sweet!

Chad's parents also came to the wedding!  Along with Chad's brother!  If you've noticed no pictures of me with my parents it's because the photographer took them at the church and I didn't take any, yesh!

This is a photo from the end of the night. A wedding guest that I didn't know came up to me with Carter in her arms he had gone up to her and told her he was tired and wanted to be picked up!  She told me that he was the sweetest boy and had been playing peek a boo with him!  While he had sat well through the meal he quietly had been playing with Katrina and Ariel but when they got tired he was going around the room asking people "Will you play with me?"  What is it about little boy's in suits?  Everyone loved him in his suit!  Here is Carter absolutely finished and cuddling his grandma while I gathered up Ariel to go leave!  Chad's parents took the kids home for the night so Chad and I could stay late!

The next day my parents hosted a huge party in there backyard!  Since there was so much family in from out of town!  It was a fabulous party!  What a weekend, what a wedding!  Thanks for letting me share with you this special day!

The inspirational photo:

It's similar but different to my last card for this challenge.  I love doing that creating inspired by my own creations! :>  I am still enjoying and trying to use my Spellbinders Bossabilities folder!  :>  And this Hello Summer pad by Echo Park is a true favorite, using it a lot!  And love the Flutter by set, it may be my favorite!

Well that's it from me today!  I am wiped! Busy day but that's what's so great about summer right?  See you soon!

Shaping Up Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be here with the Shaping Up Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Miriam's blog if not why not hop along with us there are lots of prizes, the start of the hop is here Your next stop after me is  Eleana.

I am blessed to be one of the Gallery Idol 2012 Paper Crafts Contest Girls!  We all became great friends because Laurie made a facebook group for all of us to meet and chat! Being in Gallery Idol was great but the other girls made it truly amazing!  They are all such wonderful girls and the whole experience was so much better because of the facebook group! We all had so much fun together and wanted to do something together to say thank you to Paper Crafts Magazine and the craft community for supporting us in all the runs. We know many of you are participating in the Paper Crafts July Gallery Challenge so we put together this blog hop for some inspiration and we each will offer a prize pack!

I am not a big shaped card person!  I used to make them when I started crafting but it's been a while!  :>  I thought and thought and really wanted my shaped card to be summery so I could enter it into this month's Paper Crafts July Gallery Challenge!  I don't have a digital cutter so I had to make it by hand!  I am really happy with what I came up with!

Here's the inside so you can get a better idea of how I made it:

(Ignore the white tape my scotch has been all used up by the kids!)

I drew the sail boat on a card and figured out how it would work!  I used two coffee stir sticks as part of the design and to help hold it together!  I used pp from the Echo Park line Hello Summer for the sails!  I actually made this card in less than an hour!  Not bad for having to figure everything out!  So if you don't have a digital cutter either don't stress it you can make a shaped card anyways!  Of course I didn't decide on my sentiment until after the card was all done!  So I had to take the stir stick off and than stamp the sentiment, thankfully it worked!  I think that sentiment works well with a day of sailing!

GIVEAWAY

I am still awaiting my prize from the Gallery Idol!  I have been stalking my mailman that now when he sees me he tells me no packages for you today!  HA!  So I can't show you what I am giving away!  I should hope that the package arrives this week for sure and once it does I will post the picture!  This giveaway is open until Monday July 30th or later, either I will update here with the picture of the prize once I receive my prize or I will wait and post it with the winner.  So it's open until MONDAY JULY 30th!  YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A FOLLOWER BUT IF YOU ARE YOU CAN ENTER TWICE.  Please leave your email to make life easier!  :>

If you have gotten lost or would like to see the whole blog hop list please refer to our facebook event page!

We would love to see your shaped cards and hope we have inspired you!   If you have made new shaped cards for the PC challenge or you are inspired to make some new ones, link it up below so we can see it.  Multiple entries are welcome but the card needs to be made on or after July 9. Your link will show up on all blogs so you only need to link once for a card.

Birthday Gears

Hello!  Hope your enjoying your Saturday!  We are enjoying a relaxing day but off to a friend's later for a bbq!  :>  Thought I would pop in and share a card I made just for fun.  The other day inspiration struck and I made a few cards and worked on a wreath!  Gotta love that when that happens!  I was inspired to make a masculine card, it's not often that you actually get inspired to create a masculine card so I went with it!

I embossed with Chestnut Zing one of my favorite masculine stamps Watch Gears onto my favorite pp by My Mind's Eye, Nutmeg collection!  Love these papers!  Embossed the sentiment in white and there you go!  :>

We are quite excited over here just 1 week to go until my brother's wedding!  This week may be quite busy so I may schedule some posts! But don't forget that on Monday I am taking part in the Shaping Up Blog Hop so do come back! Tons of giveaways!  See you than!

Hey there!  Today is Thursday and that means it's my turn for a post on the Scrapbooking Cafe Online Blog!  I should have scheduled this post on my own blog but alas I did not!  :>  It is still Thursday though!

My card uses the Honey Blossom Spring die by Memory box along with some papers from the Indie Chic Saffron My Mind's Eye line:

For more details please visit the Scrapbooking Cafe Online blog.

Today the kids and I hung out with a good friend and her son in there backyard pool.  I mean backyard oasis of the pool!  Ariel is such a fish!  In the late spring she did swimming lessons in 7 weeks of 45 minute lessons with a friend she went through all of level 1 and half of level two!  Love private lessons!  Her teacher called her a fish!  Ariel absolutely loves swimming!  We had a lot of fun and after work Chad joined us!  What a great day! We are loving summer!

Not sure if you saw yet but I am quite excited for Monday!  A bunch of us Gallery Idol 2012 girls are having a Shaping Up Blog Hop!  We have a facebook group and have all become great friends!  We will all have giveaways and I hope that you will join us this Monday July 23!  :>

Inspired Butterfly

Hi there!  Hope your having a fantastic Tuesday!  We have been busy running errands and doing a few things today!  After Carter's nap we are heading to a mall across the city to get him his suit for my brother's wedding and Chad's baseball game tonight!  The wedding is coming up soon, not this but the next weekend!  Yesterday I started  my dress shopping and I may have found one!  :>

Today I have a cute fun summery card to share!  This Hello Summer pad by Echo Park really helps make it easy to make summery cards!

I recently got a Bossabilities embossing folder by Spellbinders with hexagons on one side and zig zag on the other!  I absolutely love that it's double sided was totally confused until I actually got it!  Love it but got it and proceeded not to use it!  I used Lawn Fawn's Flutter by stamp set along with the Hello Summer 6 by 6 pad!  A fun summery card!  I am playing along with Lawnscapping's Challenge:

Yes there is no butterfly in the photo but there are stripes and dots and the colors are similar, I was inspired by the summery feel of this photo!  I love summer!

Well that's it from me!  I have to go and bake some goodies for tonight's game, snacks for the kids!  :>

Great Friend

Hello there!  Hope you've had a great weekend!  We have just came home from a weekend at the cabin!  Beautiful weather and we had s much fun!

If you haven't voted yet I would love it if you voted for my card (if you like it) for Reader's Choice the top 2 will be published in Paper Crafts Jan/Feb issue!  You can vote for my cute froggy card here!

Today I have a card to share using one of my favorite stamps!

I love this rose trio stamp from Pattern Hearts and Flowers by Hero Arts, and I know I am not the only one! Lots of heat embossing on this card! Here I embossed in white on the solid papers and the leaves with a pattern paper from the 6 by 6 pad.  I stamped the zig zag background with wet cement ink by HA!

We really had a great weekend at the cabin!  We were there with a whole bunch of family 8 cousins in total!  The kids really had a great time.  We spent the day at the beach yesterday it was so hot and we really enjoyed swimming and afterwards just hung out.  Had a bonfire and made smores!  Not sure how come I end up eating more than the kids!  I couldn't get a perfect smore so I had to keep trying you know!  :>  A bunch of the kids slept in the camper (I do not, I sleep in the cabin :>) and you know how much fun that is for them!  Something new is the canoe so the kids got to ride in it!  Boy did they ever love it! It rained today so I didn't get a chance but I can't wait till next time to try it out!  Here's a cute photo of Carter and his best friend and cousin Cameron (boy do they ever love each other!)

I also have a photo to share from last weekend when we were at the cabin with just Chad's parents.  Ariel saw a bird hit the window and when we went outside it was sitting there probably stunned!  We all just sat there and stared at the bird for a bit!  Thankfully he flew away a bit later, just needed a breather and we enjoyed it!

Here's another cute photo of my two, Ariel set up a little spot for her and Carter to have dessert:

We came home late this afternoon as it was raining and the kids were wiped!  The only thing about sleeping with your cousins is you hardly sleep!  We enjoyed a nice evening just relaxing and watching a movie!

That's it for me!  I hope to catch up with all of you!  :>

Hello Summer!

Hello!  Hope your Thursday is fabulous!  We were supposed to go to the beach with friends today but of course it rained.  We do need rain but sadly it hardly rained and has left us with hot weather and humidity!  Luckily quickly my friend organized a playdate and we all went to her house.  It was fantastic for us all to get together.  It was 7 of us moms with 21 kids.  It wasn't as bad as you think it would be!  Still had a fabulous time!

Just wanted to beg you to vote for me if you haven't for Paper Crafts Reader's Choice!  My card is the cute froggy one!  :>  You can vote here!

Today I have a post up at the Scrapbooking Cafe Online blog I made two fun summery cards using the Hello Summer line by Echo Park along with some Memory Box dies:

For details of these cards please visit the Scrapbooking Cafe Online's blog!

I made a fun summery wreath!  I really wanted a summery wreath for my door!  :>  Any wreath I make is for sale so I often sell whatever I have and I was left wreathless!  I was busy with gallery idol and all that so I didn't have a chance to make myself a new one!

Quite bright and fun, right?  On Monday when I went Strawberry picking I drove by a wholesale store and stopped in and got some wreaths!  Than on Tuesday I was in the area of a store that sells different colored felt than the Michaels so I stopped in there and got some new colors.  And I also got some new yarn and this wreath came together quite fast.  I wrapped it while at dinner at my inlaws and in the car between errands!  I've always wanted a multi colored yarn, it came that way so it was easy!  This flower usually takes me the longest but this time it didn't!  I thought with the multi colors the one big flower was enough!  :>

Well that's it for me!  I got to get on top of dinner the kids are starting to get hungry!  Seems like they are always hungry these days!

Thank you Cards

Hello!  Are you melting where you are?  It's hot here this week and they are  not calling for a day or rain or under 30 degree Celsius weather! Today I have a great friend coming over with her two kids!  Last time she was here her baby boy who is 8 months spent the whole visit (5 hours) in my arms!  He loves me and the feeling is mutual!

On Friday I was slightly bummed that I didn't get any cards picked up by Paper Crafts, although I had only made 2, so busy with summer!  But I was happy and surprised to see that one of my cards is part of Paper Crafts Reader's Choice!  Basically they have listed 10 cards and there are two spots and you get to vote for which one you would like to see make it!  I would love it if you voted for me!  http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22G72N2BZ2H

Today I have two thank you cards that I made for Chad's sister to give to her daughter's teachers.  She asked me to make these cards big enough to hold a 4 by 6 photo because she wanted to put a picture of the whole class inside!  I made them 4.5 by 6.5 inches:

I used an 8.5 by 11 cardstock sheet for each card and cut them down to size.  Making a bigger card is a bit daunting as it seems like we get used to the A2 size.  What I did to help me out was use pattern paper since it can easily cover the card.  I also used larger stamps.  The top stamp from my favorite Floral Blossom set by Hero Arts is a big stamp it almost fits a whole A2 card so it worked beautifully here!  For the second card using the doily die by Papertrey Ink was a great way to use up space!  And the rose stamp by Hero Arts is also really big sometimes I struggle to use it so it worked great here!  I painted the roses in with tattered angels glimmer mist, and made the ribbon match by spraying it!  For the first card I used papers from the This and That collection by Echo Park and the second one is My Mind's Eye.  Happy that I didn't make just 1 card out of the 12 by 12, I think this my 3rd! I have a bad habit of making only 1 card from a 12 by 12!

On Monday I took the kids strawberry picking!  We basically spent the day at the farm since there is sooo much to do!  And it was the first day of raspberries being ready so we picked some of that too!  I made strawberry freezer jam yesterday!  :> It was very hot but I've been waiting for a cooler day and the season is almost over so we had to go in the heat like it or not!  Here are some photos, the kids love this farm:

An animal petting farm, a fun rustic playground, a train ride in a bucket all over the farm, ice cream and a corn maze!  The kids loved every moment!  And I hit up a local scrapbook store on the way home!  And than on the way home I saw a whole sale store that I like and stopped by and got some wreaths!

Well that's it for me!  I gotta get back to cleaning up the house for our guests!
