Citrus Fiasco!

Hello!  It's me, again!  Yes how can it be me again?  I know I've probably been driving you crazy with all my blogging the last few days!  I can't help it!  I've been very creative lately and have a whole SLEW of cards to share with you in the next bit.  And I keep creating new ones too!  Today's is a new one that I made this afternoon!  I'll be honest I have warm feelings towards this card.  I wanted to do something new to me, a whole different color scheme.  I have been enjoying seeing so many citrus cards so I thought to myself why not give it a try?  So here it is, it was super nice and sunny outside today so when we went for our first bike ride/walk of spring I took it outside on the step:

I stamped the flowers with staz on watercolor paper.  I than colored the flowers with several distress inks and a small wet paint brush (stamped the pad onto an acrylic block like my bloggy friend Alice did!) It was fun coloring but I think I was so unhappy with how the colors were looking I may not have done the best job I could.  I need a smaller paint brush!  It was a fun technique and super fast!

Usually when I don't like a card I don't really mention it.  I think than I can pretend it's good.  But this makes me think of some bad hippie dress.  I may not be attempting citrus again!  Back to aqua I tell you!  :>  And don't' be surprised it this post disappears!

By the way as I am writing this post I look over at Carter who often comes downstairs with me and plays with his toys.  Today he discovered scissors and cutting!  He is currently cutting up my ribbon!  ACK!  Luckily I caught him just in time and he is cutting up some ugly ribbon.  I also discovered that his kid scissors is cutting ribbon better than my scissors!  :>  I should give him this card to cut up......

Can't get rid of this post now! I've seen it! Ha! Your card is BEAUTIFUL! I for one love the fresh colors and what color ended outside the lines just gives it a more patterned fabric feel. :)

It is a fun technique and I love the way this turned out, Anita! Beautiful colors! I think the reason you don't like it is because these colors are new to you. You're just not used to them. Look at it again in a few days and I'll bet you like it better then. And don't let Carter cut it up. . .he may end up thinking he can do that to all your cards! Yikes! Hugs! :)

Don't see anything to be unhappy about with this card, Anita! It is very pretty - I love the colors you have used. I am partial to blues and aqua, too, so I do know what you are talking about. Will have to try the ink on acrylic block method of coloring!

Anita, these are the colors of my childhood ;- ) I think we had vinyl shelf liner in that color and my mom put it up as the splash behind the sink. You just have to groove with it. Peace, Anita!
