Retro Christmas

HI all!  Last month I was soooo lucky and won one of the new Practicing Creativity sets! I love this stamp set and was beyond thrilled when I won! Courtney launches one or two new stamp sets at the beginning of each month and by leaving comments on the posts you have a chance to win too!  She is launching two new sets this month so go and check it out here and leave some comments so maybe you could win too!  I received the stamp set on Friday (Canada post sucks!) and made my first card, I had to play with the reindeer as I love his shape (The antlers come separate so it can be a deer or a reindeer!!)

I stamped the candy cane stripe in red and green than used my border punch.  I stamped the deer added the antlers and cut it out, than figured out placement and stamped the sentiment (I always do it before embossing when do you do it?)  I embossed it with my cuttlebug snowflake die and inked it a bit with white ink.  Added a red rhinestone nose some ribbon and done!  Such a fun card! I am so looking forward to playing more with this set it's such a great one!  And the stamps are a dream to work with, great quality!  Thank you so much for your generosity Courtney!

And of course I have some cute photos of my kids all dressed up to share!  My hubby and I grew up not celebrating Halloween and continue with that with our kids (Besides Halloween isn't as big here in Canada)  We took our kids for a family fun night at a church with games and a whole lotta candy!  They had a blast!  And I have been enjoying eating their candy, well someone has to eat it and I don't want it to be them!  Besides I so have a sweet tooth!  Here they are all dressed up, I am so happy that I didn't buy any new costumes this year!  Ariel had her Cinderella dress from her dance recital and I borrowed a costume for Carter from a friend!

What a cute photo, eh?  When I look at Ariel I can't help but think of how beautiful she is!  Seriously she is so much more beautiful than I was at that age, she is going to be a stunner!  And the best part is that she is such a sweet caring kind child! Some photos of them and the games:

We had a great night!  Hope your having a great start to November!  I think I may put my Christmas tree up A LOT earlier this year!  :>

So AWESOME That you won the stamp set and you used it so FABULOUSLY! Everything in this card works so beautifully together! Love how you punched out the candy cane borders! The kids' photos are so sweet! I have friends who also take kids to church on Halloween night. I really DISLIKE Halloween!! And yes, Canada Post is TERRIBLE (x100) as it cost me $9 to send a little envelope to Ottawa! I was shocked! If it weren't for the postage, I would have sent stuff to everyone! Sorry for the long comment. I think you understand ;)

Your card is adorable, Anita! I love the way you have softly inked the embossed bg - it gives it a beautiful snowy look! The deer with the little red nose is so cute and I love all the layers of beautiful scallops! Great photos of Ariel and Carter - looks like they had a fun time!
